Tenacious midfielder who joined the U's after an impressive season with promotion chasing Rochdale in 2007/8. It continues a rapid and belated rise up through the divisions for David, who had spent a lengthy spell with Morecambe as the Shrimpers pushed for league football.
He helped guide Dale to the play-off final in 2007/8 but will be hoping to go one better with the U's and take them back into the Championship.
