Experienced defender who joined the U's in December 2008 after an extended trial spell with the Essex club.
Alan had spent the early months of the season without a club after being released by Leicester City in the summer, but has settled in quickly at his latest club.
He had previously enjoyed plenty of success north of the border, whilst playing for Hearts and signed a contract extension with the U's in the summer of 2009.
