U's Ambassadors Visit Their Schools

Colchester United players have been hitting the local area recently as they visited their schools around the town.

As part of the club's Supporters of Tomorrow initiative this season, U's players will be adopted as ambassadors by schools in and around Colchester for the 2009/10 campaign.

The players will visit their schools six times during the course of the year for a range of activities and strike up a relationship with the young people of the town.

Marc Tierney and Alan Maybury were the first Player Ambassadors to go out around the town, with Marc visiting Montgomery School near Layer Road and Alan going to Gosbecks.

John White is Brinkley Grove's ambassador, whilst Magnus Okuonghae is off to Millfields School and Scott Vernon to the Gilberd in Colchester.

Defender Lee Beevers is a new friend for Ardleigh St Mary's School, whilst Ashley Vincent is a regular now at Old Heath School.
