Denny Johnstone joined Colchester United for an undisclosed fee from Birmingham City in the summer of 2016, signing a two year contract with the club.
The 21-year-old came through the ranks at Scottish giants Celtic and has represented his club at international level up to U19s.
He moved south of the border in the summer of 2014 as Birmingham City paid to take him to St Andrews on the advice of former Celtic midfielder Alan Thompson.
Loan spells to Macclesfield, Cheltenham and Burton followed, before Denny returned north of the border for a season long loan with Championship side Greenock Morton.
He struck an impressive 17 goals in 42 starts for Morton last season, enough to persuade the U's to move for their man having followed his progress over the last couple of years.
The 6' 2" front man comes from good footballing stock, with several members of his family having played professionally in Scotland.
