Charity Charter

1440x300_charitycharter.jpg

Colchester United is committed to working with the local community and supporting local charities.

Each year, via a club panel, Colchester United nominate two charities to be our Official Charity Partners with the club, along with a third that will be our Academy’s Official Charity Partner.

Our two most recent charity partners are Mid & North East Essex MIND and Age Concern Colchester.

We will work closely with the chosen charities to raise funds through a combination of supporter donations and a wide ranging package of benefits for the charities.

However, this commitment to these three Official Partners does not preclude the club from supporting other charities and good causes, which it is very prepared to do, but a monthly limit is set in terms of assistance.

All requests for charitable support must be made in writing to the club, with the communication providing full details of the charity or good cause for which the support is required and the event at which the merchandise will be used, together with main contact details.

Each charity request will be individually assessed by the club and notification, confirming the club's commitment to support or otherwise, will be communicated via letter or e-mail. Standard reasons for decline include:-

- The charity is based outside the considered 'community of Colchester' catchment area
- The club's monthly allocation has already been reached
- There is insufficient written evidence to support the request

Charity requests should be sent to:-

David Gregory,
Head of Media & Interim Supporters Liaison Officer,
Colchester United FC,
JobServe Community Stadium,
United Way,
Colchester,
Essex,
CO4 5UP

Or: media@colchesterunited.net

We look forward to hearing from you and thank you for trying to make a positive contribution to Colchester and its local community!

Please Note: We are currently heavily supporting the EFL's chosen charities and Football in the Community, so we won't be looking for other specific Charity Partners for the 21/22 or 22/23 seasons.
