Premier League Kicks uses the power of football to connect with young people to help them reach their potentials. The programme supports young people aged 8-18 who are at risk of anti-social behaviour, youth violence or from a high need area by giving them the opportunity to regularly engage in football, sport and personal development opportunities.
Here at Colchester United Community Foundation we work closely with local authorities such as Essex Police, Schools and Colchester Borough Homes to divert young people onto our Premier League Kicks programme, as it helps to reduce the risk of anti-social behaviour during the evenings. It is also gives young people from high need areas the chance to take part in regular physical activity, as the sessions are completely free.
The free sessions can also help young people find a career pathway, as we have routes into education, a football development centre and potential employment opportunities.
