Programme Information
Colchester United Community Foundation's "Unite Our Communities" programme has been funded through the Police, Fire and Crime Commission and the Essex Community Foundation (High Sheriff Fund)
Unite Our Communities is an interactive schools workshop which covers the following topics:-
- Hate Crime
- Prejudice
- Extremism
- Radicalistion
- Community
Through the use of workshop activities and discussions, participants are exposed to conversations and topics they may not have been before increasing understanding and knowledge around these subjects.
Our workshop is delivered to 9-18 year olds with interchangeable content to cater for all.
Teresa Enys - Community Developement Officer for Tendring District Council said -
"All children engaged well with these sessions and a good deal of interaction took place as CUCF team member Francesca Brooke worked with the children in a mindful and professional manner, allowing them to consider the concept of hate crime and its effects. Feedback on these sessions to date has been extremely positive, as reported by the children and school staff too."
