Former Premier League defender Charlie Daniels put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with the U's at the start of the 2021/22 season.
Charlie completed a successful trial with Colchester United over the summer, playing in a couple of friendly games for the U's and has now put pen-to-paper on a permanent contract at the JobServe Community Stadium.
The former Premier League defender began his career by coming through the ranks at Tottenham Hotspur, with his first taste of professional football coming in loan spells at Chesterfield and Leyton Orient.
Signing permanently for the O's in 2008, Daniels went on to make almost 150 appearances for the Brisbane Road side, then joining AFC Bournemouth in 2011 ahead of their meteoric rise to the Premier League.
A regular in both sides that gained promotion to and from the Championship, Daniels made 265 appearances for the Cherries with 129 of those coming in the top flight of English football.
