Miles signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the U's in February 2020 after leaving Macclesfield a month earlier.
Welch-Hayes made his professional debut for Oxford United in 2016, before dropping down to non-league with Bath City and then Oxford City.
Miles was in the Oxford side that beat the U’s in the FA Cup in November 2017, and went on to be named in the Conference South team of the season in 17/18. He signed for Macclesfield in the summer of 2018 and made forty seven appearances for them before his move to north Essex, making his debut for the U's in the play-off semi-final defeat at Exeter City.
