Wayne Brown was named permanent Head Coach at Colchester United following a positive end to the 2021/22 Sky Bet League Two season.

Brown returned to Colchester United as interim boss in January 2022, helping the club alongside Joe Dunne and Dave Huzzey to maintain Football League status, and was rewarded with a permanent position in May the same year.

The former defender learned his managerial trade at Maldon and Tiptree, as well as overseeing parts of the Academy at United, before he was given his first full time league job with the club.

As a player, Brown played for Ipswich Town, Watford, and Hull City to name a few, including over 100 games for Colchester United across three seperate periods at the club, including helping the U's to gain promotion to the Championship during the historic 2005/06 League One season.
