Youngster Samson Tovide was a surprise inclusion in the matchday squad for the U's first league game of the 2020/21 season.
Named on the bench away at Bradford, the attacker had to wait to make his debut, with it coming in the 6-1 home victory over Southend in the Papa John's Trophy. He almost became the youngest goalscorer for the U's when he crashed a shot against the bar in his debut.
Tovide's first professional goal was one to remember however, with a thunderous strike against Doncaster Rovers in November 2022.
He made an impact on the team in the second half of the season as the U's maintained their EFL status, and was rewarded with both a new contract and the number 9 shirt ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
