Shamal joined the U's in the summer of 2020 after a successful trial during pre-season.
The tall 'keeper came up through the ranks at Liverpool. Spending thirteen years at Anfield, he also had time on loan at Carlisle United and Tranmere Rovers before leaving the Premier League Champions in the summer of 2020.
George made his first appearance for the U's in the first group game of the Papa John's Trophy in the 2020/21 season, a 2-0 defeat away to Portsmouth.
