Chay Cooper signed for the U's U23 side ahead of the 2021/22 season, with ambitions of getting into the First Team by the end of the campaign.
Cooper achieved this ambtion in late September, starting for the U's against West Ham in the Papa John's Trophy Group Stage game at the JobServe Community stadium.
Providing the assist for the only goal in the game, Cooper set up Armando Dobra to score the winner for the U's, playing seventy-one minutes for Hayden Mullins' side.
