Diaz has progressed through the U's academy to become a first team player.

He is a dynamic, combative midfielder who gets himself involved around both penalty boxes and gives the U’s another useful option in the heart of the team. He enjoyed a successful spell with neighbours Braintree Town in 2018, helping the Iron to promotion back to the National League, but injuries have hampered his chances of regular first team football with the U’s.
