The Welsh international initially joined Colchester United on a deal until the end of the 2021/22 season in January.
After being released from Ipswich Town in the summer, Huws was without a club throughout the first half of the season, but did spend a portion of pre-season training at League One clubs before linking up with Colchester United for the second half of the campaign.
Rewarded with a new one-year deal in North Essex, Huws says he is looking to add more consistency after making twelve appearances in the 2021/22 season, netting one memorable goal against Swindon Town.
A confident midfielder, Huws made fifty-five appearances for the Tractor Boys, scoring five goals for the Suffolk club after joining them in 2016.
Huws' youth career was at Manchester City, where he made one appearance, but had a couple of loan spells away at Northampton Town and Birmingham City.
The Welsh midfielder has made eleven appearances for his country, scoring one goal.
