U's defender Tom Aldred has headed north on loan to get first team football.
Tom, who captained the U's U21s in their match against Bristol City last week, joined Barrow on a month's loan over the weekend ahead of their Bank Holiday fixture on Monday.
He made his debut in the Blue Square Premier clash with Macclesfield on Monday, with the recently relegated Silkmen running out 2-0 winners.
Next up for Barrow is a home double against Kidderminster and Grimsby.
