Doing It For Will

24 December 2012

Boxing Day collection for CLIC Sargent.

Will has been a fan since the days of Layer Road, attending matches with his dad Peter Hunt, along with friend Dean Bennell,

The charity have provided support for U's fan Will Hunt, who has been in hospital this year after being diagnosed with a cancerous tumour.

The U's Boxing Day game will see fans given the opportunity to raise funds for the charity CLIC Sargent.
Leo Reid, Peter Timpson and Joel Windsor. During the course of his illness, Will has been able to make use of CLIC Sargent's

Homes From Home fund, and he is currently spending 7 rent free weeks in 'Paul's House' in London. He has just begun Radiotherapy, which involves daily half hour appointments in London.

His treatment has also seen him meet fellow U's fan Tom Bowdidge who has also been ill with cancer in the last year.
In September, Will's friends began Will2Fundraise which has so far raised just over £10,000 linking pubs, schools, 6th Form College, friends, family and strangers alike into a number of different events.

The money raised from those activities and the charity collection on Wednesday is going to CLIC Sargent, who provide support to children and young adults and the charity has Will from the very start.
Will has been making good progress - he has had 4 successful rounds of chemotherapy that have seen the large brain tumour that had spread down the spinal cord shrink to a position where it is so small it has fragmented, and is no longer in his back.

As always, your generosity at Wednesday's game is much appreciated.
