U's Visit Local Hospital

...and they go to St Helena Hospice too.

Members of the Colchester United first team squad paid their annual visit to Colchester General Hospital on Wednesday afternoon, as they aimed to spread some Christmas cheer to the children currently on the Children's Ward.

Five members of the first team - Andy Bond, Karl Duguid, Matt Heath, Michael Rose and club captain Kem Izzet - visited the ward to donate gifts paid for by the squad, including five portable DVD players to stay on the ward for future patients to use.

They were joined by boss Joe Dunne and assistant Mark Kinsella as they also handed out teddies and soft balls to the young children.

Kem and Michael had also dropped in to St Helena Hospice’s Joan Tomkins Day Centre visiting patients during some of their Christmas festivities.
