Youth Pair Get Chance

14 December 2012

Lapslie and Bonne travel to Bournemouth.

Young duo Tom Lapslie and Macauley Bonne have been rewarded for their performances this season with a place in the travelling party for the trip to Bournemouth on Saturday.

The teenage duo have impressed with their displays in Tony Humes' successful U18s side over the past few months and both have begun to make an impression at U21s level under the watchful eye of Richard Hall.

And boss Joe Dunne has been pleased with their progress since coming into the club full time in the summer.

He told the official website: "They have both done very well in their youth games so far this season.
"Tom and Macauley have earned the right to be in the squad based on their performances, their attitude, their work rate and their hunger to be players for this football club."

Macauley will take squad number 42, whilst Tom will take 43.

The striker has also scored two in three for the U21s this season, whilst midfielder Tom made his first start for the U21s against Millwall on Monday night, playing the full ninety minutes.

Tom has grabbed four goals from midfield, whilst Macauley has scored seven in ten in U18s league games, plus a further ten in three matches in this year's eventful FA Youth Cup run.

The youth duo, who both turned seventeen in October, have been virtual ever presents in the U18s side that have battled with Charlton to be top of their league this season.
