Chairman's words for fans ahead of Thursday's meeting.

U's chairman Robbie Cowling has issued the following statement ahead of Thursday night's important planning meeting with regards to Florence Park. The planning committee meeting in regards to the proposed change to hours of use at the U's Florence Park training ground will be heard on Thursday night at the Old Library which is one of the smaller rooms at the Town Hall.

With plenty of interest from the club's supporters regarding this issue, we have been inundated with e-mails and phone calls from fans who are unsurprisingly keen to attend the meeting on Thursday.

Although the outcome of the meeting will have a long lasting impact on the club and everyone who supports it, it is the substantial number of staff and boys in our academy who have the most at stake, as do our neighbours in Tiptree.

Therefore, as this meeting is being held in one of the smaller rooms at the Town Hall, I would ask that fans do not attend in great numbers.

I would like to request in order that a fair hearing can be had and that those most affected can be a part of this important meeting.

Robbie
