Kem Making Progress

12 October 2012

...but club captain absent again.

"He missed the Swindon, Yeovil and Northampton matches and it is more than likely that he will be missing for Saturday's match.

"That isn't unusual for this kind of injury but once it has happened, it can get gradually worse and that has been the case for Kem.

Tony said: "He has got a Grade One strain of one of his hip flexors but he can’t remember exactly when or how it happened.

Kem has been absent for the last three matches, but physio Tony Flynn is happy with his recovery to date.

U's club captain Kem Izzet is making progress with his hip injury - but will be missing once again as his team-mates take on Stevenage this weekend.

"Over the past couple of weeks, he has been receiving treatment and doing his gym work to maintain his fitness levels.

"He has also been doing a programme of stretching exercises to strengthen the area around his hip and the next step will be getting him out on the training ground and running."

John-Joe O'Toole also continues to be absent, whilst Jackson Ramm is also making steady progress on his road to recovery.

And Clinton Morrison begins his three game ban picked up for the red card received in midweek as the U's lost to Northampton in the Johnstone's Paints Trophy.

Otherwise, the U's are in good shape for the weekend visit of Stevenage, as Joe Dunne looks to repeat the victory he collected in his first home game in charge two weeks ago.

U's: Cousins, Pentney, Okuonghae, Heath, Eastman, Rose, Wilson, White, Wordsworth, Bean, Duguid, Eastmond, Gilbey, Sanderson, Massey, Henderson, Sears, Ibehre, Watt, Wright
