A Message From Joe

28 September 2012

New manager's e-mail message to fans.

Shortly after taking charge of the U's on Thursday morning, manager Joe Dunne penned the following words to be sent out to supporters ahead of the weekend game against Hartlepool.

His powerful message is repeated below for all to read.
Firstly, let me tell you how pleased I am to become manager of Colchester United today.

I have always had a burning desire to get this job and this has been ten years in the making. I am now looking forward to getting our team playing my way and I want to put out a team that will make you all proud of Colchester United.

I also want to make the town proud of Colchester United. I live locally, my son is in the club’s Academy and I can see the floodlights of the stadium from my back garden. I am determined to make Colchester United a club that the town loves.

I promise to give you a team that will give their best. My philosophy is to have a brave team, a team that plays attacking football and a team that gives it its all, playing with no fear.

I am also pleased to welcome Mark Kinsella back to Colchester United. Mark also understands what makes this club great and, between us, we will be doing everything in our power to bring success to your club.

I am already looking forward to taking this club forward, starting with Saturday’s game against Hartlepool United.

Together, we can succeed. I can’t wait to see you at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, right behind our team.
