Kem Wants Quick Response

24 September 2012

Skipper urges team to step it up.

"The performances have not necessarily been bad and the players certainly haven't downed tools - they've given their utmost to get results, but for one reason or another it hasn't happened on a Saturday or Tuesday."

"The players have to take some responsibility in him going, as we're the ones who go out onto the pitch and we've not got the results.

"With football being as it is, someone is always in the firing line and on this occasion it was him.

"He is a nice guy and a decent manager and I wish him well with wherever his future takes him," Kem told the official website.

The U's winless start saw boss John Ward part company with the club on Monday and Kem was sad to see his former manager go.

U's club captain Kem Izzet has urged his team-mates to respond quickly to recent disappointments and get their first win of the season.

The U's face Hartlepool at home on Saturday and will be aiming to pick up all three points when they face Neale Cooper's side, who reside just above them in the League One table.
Kem added: "As a group of players, we will have to move on and respond quickly.
"We have a home game this weekend and we need to ensure that we can get out of this rut that we're in at the moment."

Tickets for the game against Hartlepool are on sale now and you can book your spot for Joe Dunne's first game back in the caretaker role by calling 0845 437 9089 or visiting Colutickets by .clicking HERE
