Fans Could Be Key

Boss praises supporters' backing.

U's boss Joe Dunne believes that the fans' backing of the team could make the crucial difference in the remaining weeks of the season.

The U's fans have been superb in their support of the U's this season, sticking with the team in some difficult times and helping the team over the line in some closely fought matches, particularly in recent weeks.

And Joe is hoping for more of the same in the final five games, as the U's edge towards safety.

"We've got young players who thrive on a positive atmosphere, so I hope that we can be one whole unit, with the fans as an extension of the team. We'll need them, for sure."

"It has helped enormously and we'll need them in the next few weeks. They could be the difference in us staying up, and we need them to suck the ball into the net for us.

He said: "I think our fans have been very good this season in terms of their backing. They have all been behind the team and the club in the last few months and both I and the players are very appreciative as we fight to stay in the league.
