There are just five more league games remaining as a season full of drama reaches an equally dramatic conclusion.
Recent results have given the U’s some breathing space over the teams belowthem, but Joe Dunne and his troops know that there is still some work to do to ensure that they retain their League One status and can begin to build for next season.
With April now upon us, the season will now race to a close in the coming weeks. And that means that it is time for you to start lodging your votes for your favourite players in what has been an interesting season on and off the pitch.
After a change of management in late September, Joe has built his side for the battles of the second half of the campaign; some twenty-one players have made their U’s debut and thirty-seven in total have represented the club during the course of the season.
The ups and downs of the past nine months will no doubt make the voting for this year’s Player of the Year awards the most interesting and closely-fought of the past few seasons.
Every fan has their own opinion of who has had the biggest impact and so it is going to be a real battle to claim the trophies this year!
The End of Season dinner takes place on Tuesday 30th April, after the final match of the season takes place away at Carlisle United’s Brunton Park on the Saturday, three days previous.
The dinner is, once again, sponsored by our stadium sponsors, Weston Homes, and there are still tickets available at £65 per person if you’d like to join us on the night. You can call us on 01206 752020 or e-mail

Goal of the Season (Sponsored by Vili's Pies)
With a style of play that will be sure to excite in the years to come, Joe has created a team that plays great football. And that has meant some fantastic goals along the way, too! But which net-buster stands out from the crowd?
Young Player of the Year (aged 22 or under) (Sponsored by DMC Consultancy)
Joe has used the loan market well to bring in some impressive young talent during the course of the season. Not many have played the majority of games, but several have had crucial impacts on the direction the season has taken in the last few months. Will you go for one of the loanees or has Drey Wright’s debut season caught your eye? There’s plenty to choose from!
Player of the Year (Sponsored by Weston Homes)
Whilst the young players have grown up in a rollercoaster season for the U’s, the team has also been led by some of its senior players along the way. The main Player of the Year award is the most prestigious accolade of the night and all squad members are eligible; who’ll get your vote?
