Home Double Awaits

1 August 2013

Busy week ahead for Joe and the team.

The Football League season is only hours away now and the excitement is ramping up ahead of the opening fixtures around the country.

For Joe Dunne and the players, it's a busy week ahead.

All eyes have been on the opener against Joe's former club Gillingham, but some intriguing fixtures await at the Weston Homes Community Stadium next week.

First up, it's fellow East Anglian side Peterborough United, who come to town in the Capital One Cup.

The Posh have good memories of WHCS after being promoted here back in 2009, but the U's will be hoping to cut short their cup exploits this time around.

Then, four days later, it's newly promoted Port Vale in the opening Sky Bet League One fixture at the U's home venue.

It's Vale's first visit to the U's current stadium and Joe and the boys will be keen to get their home fixtures off to a winning start, to provide a good foundation for the season ahead.
