Soccer Camp Returns

7 August 2013

Your chance to meet the U's.

Following the successful soccer camp at the start of the school holidays, young children from across the local area will get another chance to show their skills and meet their favourite Colchester United players at the second camp of the summer.

Children attending the course at the Shrub End Community Sports Centre will get to take part in five days of fun football sessions, play in competitions and complete challenges along the way.

Not only that, they will also get to meet the U’s squad who visit the camp to sign autographs and meet the children to talk about their own football talents.

"The first camp was a fantastic event and the children in attendance really enjoyed the chance to play plenty of football," Community Sports Participation Manager Corin Haines said.

"There was lots of fun had by those who joined us for the camp and they enjoyed getting to meet the first team squad ahead of their impressive win against Gillingham."

The camps are for children in school years Reception to 11 and those in attendance get a free Colchester United Soccer Camp t-shirt and a  free football.

There are goalkeeping and outfield sessions available, with a Champions League style tournament in the inflatable pitch and on the Astroturf surfaces.
