Olufemi pens new U's contract.
Following an impressive pre-season, the nineteen year old has committed himself to the U's for the next three years.We are delighted to confirm that Tosin Olufemi has signed a new Colchester United contract.
Manager Joe Dunne had no qualms about throwing the versatile youngster in at left back against Carlisle last weekend, even though he was more accustomed to playing right back.
Even that isn't a long established position for Tosin, having come to the club as a forward and playing most of his youth team and U21s appearances further up the pitch.
There was praise for Olufemi from his boss, with Dunne saying: "Players here only get rewarded with contracts when they earn them.
"Tosin has done exactly that and we are pleased to have secured him on a new, longer contract.
"As well as being a talented player, who can adapt to playing any position we ask him to, he possesses an excellent work ethic and attitude.
"His rise through the academy has come about because of that and he sets a wonderful example to all the younger players at the club."
