U's Join In School Fun

10 December 2013

Billy Roast visits Roach Vale Christmas party.

The U's have joined in the fun at Roach Vale Primary School.

An array of stalls were situated throughout the school, with funds being raised for present and future pupils to utilise and enjoy.

Billy joined Father Christmas for a tour of the school, before mingling amongst the pupils and parents at the Fair.

Centre half Billy Roast visited the Colchester school on Friday, for their annual Fair.

There was also a visit to Santa's Grotto for Billy to put in his Christmas present requests.

Richard Shakespeare, Chairman of the Roach Vale Primary School Association, said of the event: " "They are so helpful in attending our annual big fund raising events, along with our good friend 'Eddie the Eagle' who always takes time out to delight the children.

At Roach Vale Primary School, Parsons Heath, Colchester, over recent years we have forged a great relationship with Colchester United."

"Thanks to the support of Col U, we raised an amazing £1300 in a couple of hours. This will be spent on equipment for our newly refurbished early years playground area.

"Eddie and the club's Marketing Team and player Billie Roast kindly supported us at our Xmas Fair at the school, beginning with a procession around the playground with Father Christmas himself !

"We can only ever say, on behalf of the children,  a huge 'thank you' to Colchester United for all they do for our school and local community."
