Bikes On Show

22 February 2013

Come and take a look ahead of Tranmere game.

Saturday’s charity collection is for the British Armed Forces Charity, who will be represented at the stadium ahead of the match against Tranmere by participants of the The East Anglian D-Day Memorial Ride (EADMR).

The EADMR is an annual motorcycle charity ride open to all motorcycles/scooters over 125cc, and takes place between Merville Barracks, Colchester and the White House Farm Memorial at Rettenden.

The ride was set up three years ago with two aims, firstly to commemorate the D-Day Landings and honour those who took part, secondly to raise funds for the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF), the Soldiers Charity and other Service Charities.

As well as the motorcycles/scooters taking part, the group actively encourage members of the public to join them at Merville Barracks to see the bikes or at White House Farm for their Memorial and Wreath laying service.

The ride proceeds out of Colchester and onto the A12, leaving at Junction 17 and making their way to the Memorial Site along the Old Southend Road.  The bikes arrive there at around 1345hrs-1400hrs and the Memorial Service starts at approximately 1445hrs-1500hrs.
They will also have the Harwich Royal British Legion Band at Merville Barracks and the Romford Royal British Legion Band at Rettenden.  Refreshments at both locations. Registration is from 1000hrs and bikes leave at 1300hrs.

The group look forward to seeing you all on Saturday 8th June.
