U's Confident On Garmston

28 February 2013

Defender should be fit for Saturday.

U's boss Joe Dunne is confident that defender Bradley Garmston will be ready for action in this weekend's game against Stevenage.

The left back, who capped an impressive performance on Tuesday night against Yeovil with the assist for the U's second goal, left the pitch with fifteen minutes to go.

He added: "

And Joe was left delighted by his part in that crucial second goal against the Glovers.

Bradley sampled the taste of victory for the first time in the win over Yeovil, following defeats to Sheffield United and Tranmere Rovers.

"The intensity of first team games is very different to the U21s games he had played before, but he should be fine."

"I think it was just a case of him using parts of his body that he hasn’t used to that extent for a while.

But Joe told the weekly press conference at Florence Park: Bradley was in yesterday and was assessed by the physio team. "It also shows the kind of  intelligence that he has and that's what we want more of in the team."

"You watch it back and you see he's actually picked him out, which shows great composure in that area of the pitch.

"But what really pleased me was his ability to pick the pass to Freddie Sears.

The skill level to run that far with the ball, and the tenacity to come out with the ball after two tackles was great.
