Trials day in late July.
Colchester United’s Football In The Community programme will be seeking the stars of the future when they hold their open trials at the end of July.
The trials will see children aged from seven to sixteen given the chance to impress the Development Centre coaches and take their first steps into the club’s excellent youth programme.
Taking place at Shrub End Community & Sports Centre on Wednesday, July 24th, the trials are expected to be a hugely popular event.
Adam Hampson, Community Sports Participation Coach said: "The Colchester United Development Centre allows players to access advanced coaching and a games programme against other professional clubs.
"This forms the first step within the Colchester United youth pathway and, as of August, 44% of the boys signed to the Academy for the 2013/14 season have started their association with the club via the Development Centre.
"As an open trial, we welcome any aspiring footballer to attend the evening. From there, the coaches will then identify the correct pathway for each individual."
