U's boss Joe Dunne has boosted his defensive options with the signature of Chelsea defender Daniel Pappoe.
The Ghanaian U20s international has played in the U's last two friendlies against Sudbury and Bishop's Stortford and the two clubs have now agreed loan paperwork to keep him at the Weston Homes Community Stadium until January 12th.
It continues the U's strong association with the Stamford Bridge club, following Sam Walker and Billy Clifford's loan spells in north Essex last season.
Daniel is a powerful centre half who, in his two U's appearances, has already shown his ease in bringing the ball out of central defence.
