But, in our latest Why I'm On Board piece, one fan is celebrating a long term anniversary with the club and yet another Season Ticket.

Of those fans, a lot have been fans buying a Season Ticket for the very first time - around 12% so far.
Season Ticket sales continue to be really encouraging, with every day seeing many new fans getting on board for the 2013/14 season.
Although I was a regular fan, my first Season Ticket came twelve years after my first visit in 2001/2 and I got another Season Ticket when we had that fantastic first season in the Championship under the management of Geraint Williams.

I really enjoyed my visit and continued my Colchester United support in the Family Enclosure with my cousins, who were Season Ticket holders themselves

I first attended a Colchester United game as part of a cub pack. I was eight years old and went with Steve Pickles, who is still a Col U fan, who was our cub leader at the time.

After the move to the Weston Homes Community Stadium, I continued my support and, having moved to Highwoods a couple of years ago, it's now very easy for me to get to games and I love the fact that my football club is now right on my doorstep.
The club is an important part of the town and I like that supporting the club gives you an identity. I like that everyone knows who you are - both fellow fans and staff at the club - and that you're not just a name and number on a list. My wife has often commented that every time we go shopping, we will always bump into someone who supports the U's!

The coming season will be 25 years since I first came with Steve's cubs group at Layer Road, so I was always going to renew this year. But I did so with a real sense of excitement to see what Joe can achieve and to watch the continued development of the likes of Tom Eastman.

During last season, I saw lots of ex-Season Ticket holders returning and it's great to hear that many of them have got on board once again with a Season Ticket for next season. Hopefully it will be a good season ahead!

Have you got a story to tell? Are you a renewing fan? Or one that has bought for the first time? Or maybe you're back after a gap. Tell us your story - drop us an e-mail to media@colchesterunited.net and we'll tell you what we need!
