CUSA Remember Boss

8 March 2013

Dick a legend for U's supporters.

"Noone mentions Colchester United without remembering that triumph over Leeds United, and for that and for everything else he did for the U's, Dick will live long in our memories.

"Dick Graham was responsible for providing the historical focal point for the U's. A period which excited the supporters of that generation, helped to inspire future generations, and will continue to do so for many years to come.

Speaking to the club's official website, Supporters Association chairman Jon Burns said: "Colchester United has sadly lost one of its greatest heroes and very best managers.

The Colchester United Supporters Association have lauded Dick Graham's "love and passion for football", following his sad passing this week.

"On a personal note, I have never met anyone else with such a love and passion for football. To engage him in conversation about his life in the game and his commitment to the U's was both an honour and a privilege.

"I doubt that our football club will ever be fortunate enough to have someone of Dick's calibre in our ranks ever again.

"It goes without saying that the CUSA sends it deepest condolences to his family and friends at this extremely sad time. We have all lost one of our very best Colchester United legends, but we will continue to remember him in our hearts each and every season."
