Sembie-Ferris Joins U18s

26 November 2013

St Neots forward joins youth team.

"He came in on a six week trial with a view to seeing how he progressed.

Academy Manager Tony Humes told the official website: "Dion is a player we first saw in the summer. We monitored his progress and took him in to have a closer look.

And, after a successful trial, he has now signed until the end of the season with the U's U18s.

The teenage front man first came to the club's attention after breaking into the St Neots Town first team last season, aged just 17.

The U's have bolstered their attacking options for the successful U18s side by signing Dion Sembie-Ferris.

"He's applied himself very well and we have recognised that effort and have given him a contract until the end of the season.

"He will be playing in youth team with us between now and then, with the aim of progressing into the development squad and beyond."

With the U18s aiming to replicate the first team's philosophy of a 4-3-3 formation with attacking wide men, Dion has fitted the bill perfectly, as Tony explained.

"I think we are looking at someone who can add a lot to our attacking side of the game and we're looking forward to working with him."

"He is very hard working and quick and likes to take on defenders and has got decent quality at the end of it.

"He's a winger who matches the system we've been playing and he fits into player profile that we've been looking for.
