Tozer signs on loan to make it two.
Colchester United have boosted their defensive ranks ahead of a busy Christmas period by snapping up central defender Ben Tozer on loan from Northampton Town.
23-year-old Ben started his career with Plymouth before being snapped up for £250,000 by Newcastle United.
Two loan spells with Northampton Town was followed by a permanent switch to Sixfields, where he has played a further 94 games for the Cobblers, helping them to the play-off final last season.
He will join the U's to provide competition in the centre half positions, battling for a place in the team with Tom Eastman and Magnus Okuonghae.
Ben will initially be with the U's until January 4th, taking in the next six games, and his move will be completed subject to paperwork clearance.
