U21s see off Addicks

Daniel Pappoe played after serving his three match suspension for the red card he received at Bradford and Hall felt the Chelsea loanee benefited from the outing.

"Jack Curtis and Callum Rogers stepped up and were asked questions at a higher level - they came through it very well."

"They had a similar line-up as us, in terms of experience, and I think we controlled large parts of the game, both possession and territory wise.

Hall was pleased with the young U's, praising them for the performance against their Championship opponents.

Richard Hall's side won the behind closed doors friendly 1-0, thanks to a Dominic Vose strike midway through the second half.

The U's U21s have beaten Charlton Athletic.

"Daniel needed a game after his time out and the ninety minutes he got will do him the world of good as he becomes available for the first team again."

Vose scored the U's goal in the sixty seventh minute, thanks to a strike from twenty yards out and that proved to be decisive.

Of the goal and goalscorer, Hall said: "The goal came on the counter attack, Dominic picked it up and after space was created by Freddie ladapo's run, Dom hit a low shot into the bottom corner from just outside the box. He is with us for a bit now so we can take a look at him and he has had a good start to his time here."
The U21s development squad will be in action again next week against Norwich City, before taking on Great Wakering Rovers in the Essex Senior Cup.
