Everton left back joins the U's.
Colchester United are pleased to confirm the loan signing of Everton left back Luke Garbutt.
U's boss Joe Dunne has been a long time admirer of the England U20s international and, with Ryan Dickson recovering from the virus that has affected him in recent weeks, Luke has been drafted into the squad on a month's loan.
Luke has been at Goodison for four years, having signed in the summer of 2009 from Leeds.
Whilst predominantly a left back, he has also played in midfield and has represented his country at a number of levels, including this summer's U20s World Cup.
It's not the first time that Luke has gone out on loan in his career. He spent eight months with Cheltenham in the 2011/12 season, playing 34 times for the West Country club as they reached the play-offs.
Luke's move will see him straight into the squad for Saturday's game against Bradford City.
