U's Flash: Taylor Signs

20 September 2013

Experienced defender makes it two in a day.

Colchester United are pleased to announce the arrival of experienced defender Matt Taylor on a month's loan from Bradford City.

Matt, who signed for the Bantams in the summer, has had to be patient for his chance at Valley Parade, thanks to their fine start to the league season.

And, having added QPR defender Jamie Sendles-White to their ranks earlier in the day, the U's have now drafted in Matt to give them additional options at the back over the next four weeks.

31-year-old Matt brings plenty of experience and knowledge of this level to the U's squad.

Having spent four years with Exeter City, he was snapped up by former boss Phil Parkinson at Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2011.

He played an integral part in the Addicks side that got promoted that season, and went on to play a further 12 times in the Championship last season, taking his league tally to over 200 games.

Subject to paperwork clearance, he will be in the squad for the game against Crawley Town on Saturday.

Having left Charlton, he was signed for a second time by Parky this summer, but will now make his next league appearances in a Colchester shirt.
