Ex-Players Join U's Walk

15 April 2014

Join them at the Wine Centre for the Brentford game.

Barry Smith, Steve Dowman and Phil Coleman will be on hand to lead the walk from TheThree former U's players will be joining fans on a leisurely stroll to the stadium ahead of the Brentford game as part of our #takeoverthetown campaign.

Wine Centre in Great Horkesley to the stadium before kick-off against the high-flying Bees.
For the week leading up to the last home game of the season, The Wine Centre will be decorated in the club's blue and white colours, while collecting for our charity of the campaign, the very worthwhile Tom Bowdidge Foundation.

On the big match day itself, the 26th April, Anthony Borges, The Wine Centre's owner, and a U's fan, has invited fans to join him for a FREE beer at 1.30pm before heading off at 2.00pm, taking the A134 Colchester road past the Half Butt, before taking the footpath just before  the flyover.

Anthony says the beers will be on him, provided fans come in full U's regalia!

We would like to encourage all our Rural fans, from Great Horkesley and surrounding villages,  to join the procession, from The Wine Centre in Great Horkesley to the ground,  a distance of approximately 1.8 miles.

The walk is Anthony's idea – a way for Colchester United's rural fans to celebrate the end of the season together.
