Bike To Orient!

15 August 2014

U's to raise money for charity with September away game.

And Robbie is hoping that the U's supporters will again come together for the trip to East London on September 13th - this time to raise money for the Tom Bowdidge Foundation.

Recent years have seen the club raise thousands of pounds for charity via a host of successful bike rides, including chairman Robbie Cowling's monumental effort of cycling to Preston and Carlisle in the 2012/13 season.

Colchester United supporters are being encouraged to raise money for charity as the team prepare to travel to Leyton Orient in September.

Loyal supporter Lea Finch, who recently rode on behalf of the club for the London to Amsterdam bike ride in aid of Prostate Cancer UK, told the Colchester Gazette: “Robbie came up with the idea, so I thought it was definitely worth a go.

"We will be setting off from the Weston Homes Community Stadium at 7.30am. Allowing six hours should give us plenty of time for the 3pm kick off.

“I’m looking for riders and support vehicles to help out.”
