Winger to get a stint in U21s' first match.

Colchester United U21s get their season started on Wednesday afternoon, as they make the trip up to Yorkshire to take on Sheffield United.

The match will see the U's make use of the opportunity to field overage players in the Development League, with Sanchez Watt and David Wright returning from injury to face the Blades.

There's also a first official game for the U's for recent signing Kevin Lokko, who will line up at centre half alongside Billy Roast.

The game at United's training ground will also see two players look to impress the U's management.

Ipswich Town midfielder Byron Lawrence, who made his Tractor Boys debut aged 16, will play for the U's in their first U21s game of the season and could also feature in the upcoming game against Crystal Palace next week.

Byron, who is now 18, is joined in the team by Tottenham Hotspur right back Kane Vincent-Young as the U's continue to look to shape their U21s squad for the busy 27 game season ahead.

U's: Bransgrove, Wright, Lokko, Roast, Vincent-Young, O'Donoghue, Hubble, Lapslie, Lawrence, Sembie-Ferris, Bonne, Watt, Harrison, Brampton
