No Wins For Loanees

8 December 2014

Two draws and a defeat for U's players.

Colchester United's loanees were unable to find the way to victory at the weekend, with two draws and a defeat.

Marcus Bean's Portsmouth sat it out on Saturday, having been defeated in the FA Cup First Round by Aldershot Town.

Dan Holman continues to impress with the Shots, picking up the club's November's Player of the Month for his efforts there. And he almost helped the Hampshire club to another impressive cup win on Sunday.

The Shots were in action against the U's upcoming League One opponents Rochdale and Dan had a couple of good chances to grab a goal, but the two teams will go head to head again after drawing 0-0.

There was no luck in front of goal for Jabo Ibehre, either, as Oldham were knocked out of the competition by Doncaster Rovers.

Jabo had had claims for a penalty in the first half and had a great chance from close range late on, but the Latics were defeated by a late own goal as Paul Dickov beat his former team.

Billy Roast was in the thick of the action on Saturday, as his AFC Hornchurch side came up against Leiston, for whom Conor Hubble is back in action.

The game was to finish all square with a 1-1 scoreline and Hornchurch continue their search for their first league win of the season.
