Tough Weekend For Loanees

15 December 2014

No wins for U's players at other clubs.

It was a tough weekend for the U's players currently turning out on loan at other clubs, with four defeats and a draw on Saturday.

Only Billy Roast was unable to avoid being on the losing end of a result on Saturday, as he helped Hornchurch keep a clean sheet in their latest home game. The Urchins continue their quest for a home league victory this season but had chances to win against Kingstonian.

Marcus Bean was on target for Portsmouth in a rollercoaster game at Fratton Park.

Pompey were two down early on against Accrington Stanley, but fought back to 2-2, with Marcus curling in a twenty yard effort to make it 2-1 midway through the first half.

When Accrington missed a penalty in the second half, it looked like Pompey might go on and win the match, but the crucial fifth goal went to Stanley, who took the points back to Lancashire.

Jabo Ibehre played ninety minutes but, despite an early chance for the forward, it was a tough afternoon for his side Oldham, who fell to a 4-0 reverse against the U's weekend opponents Yeovil Town.

Conor Hubble and Dan Holman were both in FA Trophy action, but both tumbled out of the competition at the first time of asking.

Conor's Leiston lost 2-0 at Bromley, whilst Dan's Aldershot were surprisingly beaten by Burgess Hill at home to continue the Shots' mixed form of late.
