TV dish to make U's debut against Preston.
Colchester United supporters will be able to taste the recently revived Colchester Pudding when the U’s host Preston North End on February 22nd.
The U’s players, along with General Manager Tim Waddington and Head Chef Karl Smith featured in the most recent edition of Jamie & Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast on Channel 4, which saw the TV chefs bringing the Colchester Pudding into the modern era.
In the episode, representatives of the club got to taste Jamie’s version of the pudding, put together by chefs at the Colchester Institute.
And U’s fans will get their chance to taste the fruity dessert in the home match next Saturday.
"It was great to be involved in the filming and give our thoughts on the new look Colchester Pudding," Head Chef Karl said.
"We are always keen to support local suppliers and look to provide dishes that represent the town and the local area.
"Having been part of this show, we were always very keen to try and get the pudding onto our matchday hospitality menus and we’ll be putting it on the menu for the first time against Preston.
"We all enjoyed tasting the dish when we went to the Town Hall and I’m sure that our guests on that day will really like it too."
