U's Ready For Vale

10 February 2014

Sears and Massey pray for good weather

The U's travel to Port Vale on Tuesday, hoping that they'll finally have a game to play.

With FA Cup ties and incessant rain postponing five matches since the turn of the year, the U's haven't played since their 4-2 win against Carlisle United on January 18th.

It has given the likes of Freddie Sears and Gavin Massey more time to fine tune their fitness in training without missing games but the mini-break has also delayed Allie Sesay's debut for the U's.

The Leicester City defender signed on loan last month but has not yet pulled on a U's shirt.

All three players are in the nineteen man squad travelling up to Staffordshire, all eager for a game after over three weeks without a fixture.

The U's take on a Vale side, managed by former U's assistant boss Micky Adams, that are sitting in 10th place in League One table, having been promoted last summer.

U's: Walker, Cousins, Wilson, Olufemi, Dickson, Sesay, Eastman, Okuonghae, Sanderson, Gilbey, Bean, Eastmond, David Wright, Massey, Vose, Watt, Sears, Ibehre, Morrison.
