Vote For Your Top Pizza!

25 February 2014

Take a look at the Col U boys culinary skills.

, in Colchester with some of the boys to make their very own, personalised pizzas. Papa John’sLast week, we visited Sky Bet Football League partners,

Sandeep Panesar and the rest of the team welcomed three of our strikers; Jabo Ibehre, Gavin Massey, Freddie Sears and one of our defenders; Ryan Dickson, to teach them the art of making pizza the Papa John’s way.

Each were given a branded apron and hat to prepare them for what could be a messy task ahead.

But Ryan stepped up as the first to try, making a very good first attempt with a little help.

The boys almost backed out of preparing their own bases when they witnessed quite how difficult the art of ‘slapping’ (which helps the pizza reach the right size) was.

Each of the guys went for a tomato base and were then given free rein for the rest of the toppings. We then asked each to name their creations.

Watch our special YouTube video of the pizza preparation HERE!

Here’s a rundown of what our boys came up with:-

Freddie Sears – The Searsy Special:
A tomato base, with ham, pepperoni, Italian sausage, red onions, black olives and green peppers.

Ryan Dickson – The Col U Italian Sausage:
A tomato base, extra cheesey with ‘Col U’ spelt in Italian sausage.

Jabo Ibehre – The Chicken Easy:
Tomato base with extra cheese, Italian sausage, chicken, mushrooms, green peppers, red peppers, red onions and black olives

Gavin Massey – The Masseynator:
Tomato base with plenty of extra cheese, chicken, Italian sausage, pepperoni and sweetcorn

Now we want you, the fans, to decide which one of these pizza’s you’d order. Whichever one you decide will be placed on the Papa John’s menu as the official Colchester United pizza.

Visit The Col U Wall to vote for your favourite.

Will it be a Searsy Special you’ll want to order after 90 minutes of cheering on Col U? Or maybe the simpler Col U Italian Sausage so you can reminisce as you bite into a slice?

Maybe a Chicken Easy when you’re taking it easy on a Friday after a long day at work? Or will you choose the Masseynator to assassinate your hunger?
It’s your choice - get voting!
