Freddie Edges Ahead

14 January 2014

...but Jabo leads this season's totals.

Freddie Sears' weekend goal against Gilllingham has edged him ahead of fellow striker Jabo Ibehre when it comes to goals for Colchester United.

The tricky forward notched his fifteenth goal in U's colours, whilst Jabo has fourteen goals across his time with the U's to date.

Jabo leads this season's scoring efforts in the race between the two with six goals in all competitions, whilst Freddie has five - although Freddie has played less games so far this season.

The U's also recorded their fourth clean sheet in five games in the win over Gillingham, taking them to seven for the season.

Only six teams in League One have collected more clean sheets than Joe Dunne's men in 2013/14 and five of those six - Wolves, Brentford, Preston, Peterborough and Leyton Orient - currently reside in the automatic and play-off spots.

The U's head to Carlisle this weekend, looking to extend a sequence of results that has seen them collect ten points in their last five matches.

Then, next up at home is Shrewsbury Town on January 28th. Buy your tickets now and get an adult ticket for just £18!
