Shuttle Bus service amendments for remainder of season.
Colchester United’s shuttle bus services will be returning to First Buses for the remainder of this season.
The service, transporting fans to games on every matchday, will be taken on by First Buses after Network Colchester informed the club that they would need to step away from the additional resources required for the matchday service and concentrate on their core business in 2014.
"We would like to thank Network Colchester for their work in providing the shuttle buses on matchdays," U’s Operation Manager Sean McQuaid told the official website.
"We now welcome back First Buses who were our first partners with the shuttle bus provision and we are sure that it will be a smooth transition for our supporters who make use of the buses to get to the Weston Homes Community Stadium."
At this stage, very little will be changing to ensure that there is a simple handover to First Buses. However, the two important points to note are as follows:-
- Pre-match, the St Michael’s Estate bus will leave at 1.40pm rather than 1.30pm on Saturdays and 6.25pm rather than 6.15pm on midweek games, but after the Silver Oyster stop, normal timetable resumes
